Minnesota Pipeline System resumed operations
Limited operations of the Minnesota Pipeline System resumed Thursday according to company officials.
Operations were interrupted Tuesday, June 27, when the common carrier system experienced a crude oil leak near Little Falls, Minn. The leak occurred in a right-of-way containing two parallel pipelines, affecting one of the two pipelines. Both pipelines were shut down by pipeline control center operators within minutes and the affected section was isolated within 20 minutes. There were no injuries.
In cooperation with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the Minnesota Office of Pipeline Safety, operations began through the unaffected pipeline today. The company will resume limited operations of the affected pipeline when repairs are completed on it.
Minnesota Pipe Line Company is owned by Flint Hills Resources, Marathon Pipe Line L.L.C, and TROF, Inc. The Minnesota Pipeline System is operated by Koch Pipeline Company, L.P.
