State-run Coal India Ltd (CIL) has invited preliminarily bids for the appointment of consultants for its identified opencast and underground mines and coal washeries.

The selected consultants would be responsible for assessment of the current status of technology covering mining and related activities and benchmark them against the world standards under similar geo-mining set-up, the company said in its advertisement seeking expression of interest.

They would also be responsible for documenting technologies, identifying relevant productive technology in the global market and their potential of application in CIL’s mines, it added.

Besides the consultants would also prepare roadmaps for implementation of the technology on mine to mine basis.

The last date for submitting the bids by the interested parties has been fixed as February 28.
