Norwegian oil service company Awilco Offshore ASA said on Tuesday (12 August) that it has received a letter of intent for a multi-well drilling programme for the jack-up drilling rig WilForce from an international operator.

The proposed contract, received through Premium Drilling, covers two firm wells and one optional well offshore Libya.

The firm part of the programme has an estimated duration of 180 days and is valued at USD36.5m.

The letter of intent and the subsequent firm contract are subject to approval by Libya’s National Oil Company.

Awilco Offshore, headquartered in Oslo, Norway, is an international drilling contractor with five jack-up drilling rigs and two accommodation units. The company also several additional rigs under construction. Awilco Offshore reported revenue of USD189.8m in 2007.
