A record quantity of coal extraction is expected at the Bulgarian “Bobov Dol” coal mine, according to the Assistant Manger of the company “Coal Extraction Bobov Dol”, Ogniyan Zarev.

Zarev spoke Saturday before Darik radio. The Assistant Manger further explained that despite the record extraction, the price of BGN 198 with VAT (Value Added Tax) for a ton of enriched coal was not going to go up. Such coal is also used for household heating.

Zarev pointed out that the underground coal mines in “Bobov Dol” were functioning better and better, which was the reason for the record production compared with the last four years. The mine’s leadership is also working on modernizing the mine equipment, which, according to Zarev, was almost 100% obsolete.

The coal miners from “Bobov Dol” are celebrating Saturday the “Day of the Miner.” The celebration is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am at the mine’s offices.
