According to China’s domestic iron ore production in February 2009 of major industrial products announced by National Bureau of Statistics March 17th iron ore production during the period was 58.19 million tonnes an increase of 14.6%YoY from the same period last year.

Derived January to February iron ore production totaled 105.43 million tonnes, increasing 6.9% from the previous corresponding period. Additional demand for iron ore generated by increased steel production early this year is the contributor to the increment.
