Xtrata and Anglo American are the two biggest mining companies in the world. Both companies have the largest mineral exploration, if the two companies is realized plan of merger, then there will be a world’s largest mining companies.

In connection with the plan of merger companies, the following statement from the Mining Group Xtrata,

“Xstrata confirms that it recently sent a written proposal to the Board of Anglo American seeking their consideration of a merger of equals of the two companies. Xstrata has already quantified substantial operational synergies from the combination that are not available to either company operating alone”.

Plan of merger companies get this positive response from financial institutions and banks. Financial institutions and banking companies estimate the merger will reduce costs in the mining exploration activities. As the company has a second location near mine exploration, if two companies make equipment for the merger exploration more effective.

Japanese investment bank Nomura has estimated a potential merger could achieve cost savings of 700 million dollars a year.

Investment banks Goldman Sachs and UBS are believed to be advising Anglo, whose headquarters are in London, while Xstrata is being advised by Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan Cazenove.
