lithium-mining-projectsTwo Australian companies signed a cooperation contract to develop lithium Mount Marion project in Western Australia. Mineral Resources will begin operations in late June 2010. Mineral Resources will build a lithium-processing facilities in Mount Marion, and will be responsible for funding the operational costs. Contract development of lithium Mount Marion project will provide net profit up by 40% to the Mineral Resources.

Feasibility study, currently underway, will confirm the parameters with the initial production will occur, especially in relation to the mixture of chemicals and products of glass class.

Reed said that the test work on the site of lithium concentrates produced from 6.5 percent to 7 percent of lithium oxide, a lithium recovery between 75 percent and 83 percent. The project was originally proposed to deliver up to one million tons per year of ore.

In connection with these activities, Mineral Resources will also be conducting a feasibility study the formation of large, stand-alone factory located in Mount Marion project, the processed ore to the port rail.
