Future of Coal Energy: Appalachian Government to Find Solutions Replace of Coal Energy Sources
February 7th, 2010
The use of coal as an energy source to be the belle of the few countries that have very high industrial growth. However, the real use of coal as energy sources harms the environment. As an energy source, coal is the energy source that can not be renewable, so some countries are concerned about the use of coal as an energy source.
Communities in the Appalachian states worried about the use of coal as energy, because the estimated coal resources in the next few years will decline. Within 10 years of decline in the Appalachian coal sources reached 50 percent. Therefore the government is now the Appalachian State makes a policy to develop new energy sources to replace coal as an energy source.
But the West Virginia Coal Association says, to change the use of coal as an energy source and stop the coal mining exploration activities can not fast. James Bostic, Vice President of West Virginia Coal Association, said “The transition can not happen overnight, it was not possible. The country needs coal, West Virginia needed a job, and needed economic support. Get out of our way and let us work. If we can not develop the land, then nothing will be an opportunity for economic diversification of West Virginia.”
