South Africa Mining Exploration Project Rule, New Code to Evaluate Mining Project

A commite operation of mining exploration in South Africa makes new clauses for mining company with value input in each project of mine operation by mining companies, especially mineral mine company. This regulation will be implemented in the next month.

“The Samval code would apply to projects with different stages of development, from exploration through to production, or even defunct. It spelt out three different ways that the minerals in those projects could be valued — using a discounted cash flow, market approach or cost method — and the qualifications needed for the competent valuator”.

Niogold Mining Corporation Reports On The 2008 Diamond Drilling

NioGold Mining Corporation reports on the 2008 diamond drilling program on the Marban Block property located in the Malartic Gold Camp, Abitibi region, Quebec, where the Company has drilled 47 holes (16,370 metres) to date on the promising Marban West Extension target and Wedge Zone.

Initial testing of the West Extension target was completed at 100-metre drill section spacing up to 600 metres west of the former Marban Mine shaft, covering lines 100W to 600W. Assay results were received for 6 holes drilled on lines 400W and 500W.

Oil And Gas Exploration Company, Enegi Oil Ready To Drill At Canadian Site

Enegi Oil, the Manchester-based oil and gas exploration company that listed on AIM in March, said it has taken delivery of a rig that may allow it to declare its first proven reserves. The shares climbed 1.6 per cent to 160p.

The drilling is expected to take approximately 80 days.

Production tests to date have produced more than 24,000 barrels of high quality crude, and that TRACS International has estimated the field contains mean resources of 8.6 million barrels of oil equivalent. Read more » »

Cooperation Of Oil Drilling Between Norwegia Oil Companies And Libya

Norwegian oil service company Awilco Offshore ASA said on Tuesday (12 August) that it has received a letter of intent for a multi-well drilling programme for the jack-up drilling rig WilForce from an international operator.

The proposed contract, received through Premium Drilling, covers two firm wells and one optional well offshore Libya.

The firm part of the programme has an estimated duration of 180 days and is valued at USD36.5m.

Endevco Agreed To Sell And Deliver Crude Oil, Oil Sale and Purchase Agreement With US Oil Company

EnDevCo has agreed to sell and deliver crude oil and/or condensate produced from the Company’s Short Junction Field in Cleveland County, Oklahoma.

Mr. Chris A. Dittmar, Chief Executive Officer for EnDevCo, commented on the agreement by saying, “We are extremely pleased to announce the execution of this contract, as it aligns our interests with the closest refinery in the region. China Mining Exploration Safety Mine Exploration Equipment

Fewer people died in China’s often deadly mines in the first seven months of 2008 compared with the same period last year, a safety official said on Saturday, but warned that the situation remained serious. The death toll was 1,631 in the January to July period, a fall of 24 percent, spokesman for the State Administration of Work Safety, Huang Yi, told a news conference.

“Of course, coal mining is still a dangerous activity in China. The safety situation remains serious,” he said. “Although the number of accidents has dropped, there is still an effect on society.” Read more » »

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Oil Pipeline Shut Down After Oil Pipeline Explosion in Turkish

The 1,774-kilometre (1,109-mile) Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline is the world’s second longest and takes oil from Azerbaijan to Western markets.

Prime Minister Lado Gurgenidze told Georgian television: “The area of the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline was bombed by Russian planes. Miraculously, the pipeline was not damaged.”

The BTC has a capacity of 1.2 million barrels of oil a day but is currently shut down after an explosion in a Turkish section which has been claimed by Kurdish rebels.

Compliance Energy Signed MoU for Sale of The Basin Coal Mine

Compliance Energy Corporation announces that it has recently signed a binding memorandum of understanding (”MOU”) for the sale of 100% of the Company’s interest in the Basin Coal Mine located near Princeton, BC for consideration of cash and shares totaling Cdn $8 million.

Under the terms of the MOU, NWPC Pty Ltd (”NWPC”), a private Australian company, has agreed to purchase the Company’s interest in the mining agreement under which the Company has the right to mine coal at the Basin Coal Mine as well as all remaining assets of the Mine including the 400,000 tonne per year wash plant for $4 million in cash and $4 million in shares of a public Australian Company. Coal Mining Exploration Safety Violation, Consol Energy Fatal Coal Mining Accident

Mine operator Consol Energy has been cited for a safety violation that contributed to a fatal coal mining accident in June, a state mine inspector said Wednesday.

Veteran miner Gary Hoffman, 55, was struck and killed June 5 by a loaded rail car at Consol’s Robinson Run No. 95 mine, state mine inspector Alan Lander said at a briefing of the state Board of Coal Mine Health and Safety.

Hoffman was pulling two cars weighing a combined 43.32 tons when the locomotive he was driving began to slide, Lander said.
