Barrick offers $1,29bn to buy NovaGold Resources
Barrick Gold Corp., the world’s biggest gold producer, made an offer to acquire NovaGold Resources Inc. for about $1,29-billion in cash to expand in Alaska and British Columbia.
The per-share purchase price of $14,50 is 24 percent above NovaGold’s closing share price on July 21, Toronto-based Barrick said on Monday in a statement.
