Petro-Canada yanked five oil sands properties from the auction block yesterday, saying bids didn’t meet its expectations, and analysts said the low offers indicated excitement for such assets has diminished somewhat.
When Petrocan put the five properties up for sale in November, some analysts such as UBS Securities estimated they could fetch as much as $1.7-billion.
