Alliance to proceed with new coal mine


Construction of the new River View underground coal mine near Uniontown could begin by this fall, with production starting in mid-2009, coal producer Alliance Resources Partners L.P. said Monday.
Alliance announced plans for the Union County mine in April 2006, saying it could employ as many as 300 people.
