Oil production up statewide this year; natural gas down
Kansas oil production increased by more than 5 percent this year, according to year-end estimates from the Kansas Geological Survey.
Tim Carr, head of the survey’s energy research section, said production in 2006 will total about 35.7 million barrels of oil. About 33.9 million barrels were produced in 2005.
