Australian stocks climbed to a record. Newcrest Mining Ltd. and Woodside Petroleum Ltd. led gains after gold rose and the price of oil rebounded from a 19- month low.
The S&P/ASX 200 Index advanced 35.0, or 0.6 percent, to 5673.80 at the close in Sydney. About 14 stocks rose for every five that fell.
