CNX Gas Corporation has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the coalbed methane (CBM) and gas interests to approximately 1,037,000 gross acres from Peabody Energy. The transaction will increase CNX Gas’ gross acreage position from 2.5 million gross acres at year-end 2006, to 3.6 million, or an increase of 44%.
