Shares of oil and natural gas exploration company Swift Energy Co. fell Thursday after the company said its second-quarter earnings fell 17 percent as the company paid off debt early.
The company earned $31.5 million, or $1.03 per share, compared with $38.2 million, or $1.27 per share in the second quarter of 2006.
