Dominion to sell Canadian natural gas and oil operations
Richmond-based utility Dominion Resources Incorporated says it has agreed to sell its Canadian natural gas and oil exploration and production operations to Paramount Energy Trust and Baytex Energy Trust.
The sale totals $$583 million.
The operations include about 267 Billion cubic feet equivalent of proved natural gas and oil reserves in western Canada as of December 31st, [...]
Technip shares soar on mooted bid by Italian oil group ENI
Shares in the French oil services group Technip soared on reports it might be about to receive an offer from Italian energy company ENI or its engineering affiliate Saipem.

China Steel Industry To Cut Steel Production, Worsens Steel Production Overcapacity
The Chinese government has moved to clamp down on steel producers that are still increasing their output, despite a collapse in demand. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued a notice calling on commercial banks to restrict or cut off credit to steel enterprises that are “blindly expanding in disregard of the market.”
