Armstrong to reopen Big Run coal mine
A coal company is planning to reopen a mine in Western Kentucky next year, creating about 900 jobs with starting pay of $19 an hour, officials said.

Construction of the new River View underground coal mine near Uniontown could begin by this fall, with production starting in mid-2009, coal producer Alliance Resources Partners L.P. said Monday.
